With the recent launch of the Messi F50 adizero boots adidas has recently released a slogan that says "Play The Messi Way." At first I was confused about what this meant but with this video it all makes sense now. adidas have attempted to inspire the youth to keep the game beautiful and to stay on their feet and not dive to the ground like some people we may know;)

Just Arrived: adizero F50-miCoach
The latest incarnation of the adiZero F50 has been created, and this time, they can monitor your performance. They have been calling this "the boot with the brain" but only time will tell and I think it's accuracy has to be correct and spot on in order for players both professional and amateur to get the benefit from the micoach technology. Only time will tell and my guess is that many of you footy fans have been wondering what the boot and technology/buzz is all about.
However, thanks to adidas that time has come and the boots have just arrived. Over the next week i will be testing these boots out along with the miCoach technology. Below is a teaser video about the miCoach technology and after taking a closer look at the boots and seeing this video I am excited to review this boot!

Why was the adizero f50 football boot in particular chosen to feature miCoach technology?
Our aim is to make every athlete better. The f50 boot is engineered to make the fastest players in the world even better. The question was how to make them even faster and the miCoach SPEED CELL was the simple answer to that. It helps players to analyse their performance and give them tips on how to become even faster, and we thought it would be great to offer our consumers the opportunity to compare themselves to the best player in the world, wearing this boot – Leo Messi.
miCoach has been used primarily in running, how can this now benefit a football player?
With the introduction of 360 degree speed and distance tracking, and the combination of on-board memory, we now move from it being a running / training device to an on-pitch performance monitor. We can now accurately track and analyze game data, simply and easily via a seamless integration into the new adizero f50 outsole. Professional football players have long had access to this level of performance data, we are now making this available to all consumers, to compare your game stats, and help guide you to becoming a better player.
What information does the SPEED CELL gather and what is the process?
The micoach speed sensor is an advanced accelerometer that tracks your speed and distance in all 360 degree directions. From this measurement, we are able to provide your max speed, average speed, time and distance in determined speed zones, as well as number of sprints.
How do you access the data the SPEED CELL collects and how can this be used to improve your performance?
The performance data is measured and then stored in on-board memory, and after the game is wirelessly transferred to your mobile phone or PC. The miCoach SPEED CELL uses ANT+ wireless data transmission in order to communicate with your phone or PC, which can then be viewed directly on your mobile phone handset, or viewed on your miCoach.com account.
What was the goal from a product and innovation perspective when developing the adizero f50 miCoach?
The goal was to build the lightest football boot possible, whilst at the same time, achieve perfect player acceptance, quality and performance. In addition, we wanted to bring the miCoach functionality to the shoe. Capturing your performance data during a game was possible only for professional players with costly equipment. Our goal was to make performance data accessible also for our consumers at an affordable price. The guiding principle for the miCoach functionality was to keep it simple, but fun to use.
What has been the testing process for the boot and which players have been involved?
The testing has been extensive. We had to come up with new testing methods, as it’s not only about testing a football boot, but also an electronic device and application where all these elements have to perform together as a system. We brought in experts from the various functions and formed a project group to work on miCoach with a holistic approach.
We involved professional and amateur players and also tested the products ourselves.
What has been the feedback from players in regards to the new adizero f50 miCoach?
The players love the boot and are very excited about the new miCoach functionality. They can see that it opens new opportunities to understand their strengths and areas where to improve - and they are extremely curious to compare themselves to the best players in the world as well as their team mates!

adiPower BLACKOUT Teaser...
Leading into the launch of the Next Predator LZ which has a estimated release date of 6/1/2012 Adidas will release an all black color way in the adiPower Predator.
The all black boot hits home with many consumers because it is simple and offers a heritage feel to the modern day boot. In addition, unfortunately when they release an all black boot it usually notifies Adidas fans that the next generation is on it's way. I am excited for the new Predator but in a way I am sad because the current adiPower was/is a awesome boot and I'm not sure many consumers want to see it go. I believe there is still a lot you can do with the boot in terms of minor changes to increase performance and the style of the boots but i guess the next Predator us just too good to hold back. These black on black adipower Predators will drop in April/May 2012.

adiPower Predator Review:
The Good: adidas has created a concept/hybrid power boot used for the modern game. The boot is redesigned from top to bottom and weighs an astonishing 7.8 oz.
The Bad: Stiff forefoot due to the power spine technology in the outsole. In addition, the heel cup is narrow which causes a pressure point on the interior of the heel.
The Bottom Line: adidas has done a tremendous job with this boot. The style, technology, and value all speak for themselves when you see the boot in person. It is a mixture of Power and Speed with a realistic price point of $200 for a concept boot that anyone on the pitch can wear.
Background:
In recent weeks, we have seen many of the world’s top footballers showcase the boot. Recently, the latest Predator (11th generation) was released and the boot has been redesigned from top to bottom. With this boot, adidas had drastically decreased the weight and created a whole new Predator element to increase the force/trajectory of a player’s strike. With the lack of innovation from the Predator X adidas needed to create a very unique boot in order to once again capture consumer’s interests/hearts. Furthermore, with this boot adidas did just that. Weighing in at an astonishing 7.8 oz adidas created a hybrid/concept power boot by using the beloved F50 Sprintframe outsole while combining the Predator element which has many consumers intrigued. The boot is a mixture of speed and power which applies to today’s football game.
Comfort/Fit: (7/10)
With the upper on the new adiPower Predator adidas decided to stick with the Taurus upper which is a good call by the three stripe company because unlike K-Leather, Taurus leather is more durable especially on turf fields which aids in the longevity/life of the boot. Now days, consumers want their boots to last the whole season and with the rising prices of football boots consumers now see their purchase as an investment rather than an impulse buy because of the big price tag.
Furthermore, another attribute you will notice that is similar to the Predator X is the off center lacing system used on the new adiPower Predator. With this lacing system that I like to call as the “athletic fit” is one of the most positive/revolutionary ideas that football boots has ever seen. By using the off center lacing it allows the boot to mirror the natural image/shape of your foot, which feels like a sock when you put it on. In addition, with the off center lacing it takes pressure off of the top of your foot and provides a larger striking surface which increases your ability to put the ball where you want. Furthermore, by going with the off center lacing this boot is made for consumers who either have a medium to wider sized foot. However, when fitting and throughout testing I experienced pain on the interior of the heel cup almost similar to the pain of wearing a boot that is too narrow in the heel.
Performance: (9/10)
The soleplate used in these new boots is the sprint frame, which unlike past predators it has the benefit of being light weight and takes a little time to break in. so plan on wearing these boots in several training sessions before you debut them in a match. In addition, you may have noticed “the predator element “on this historical remade/engineered boot. The principal of this boot has not changed. This boot is without a doubt a power boot. After testing these boots, I was wrong when I said adidas was killing the predator with the debut of this boot. It is obvious that this boot is made for the modern game and is still a power boot. There are raised silicon/rubber ridges in the adipower element that act like a rebounding spring when the ball struck giving you just a little bit more power and swerve/swag on your shot.
Value: (9/10)
In the end, I am amazed to what adidas has done with this predator. The mix of lightweight and power is a lethal combination. I believe in soccer specialty stores that this product will be a point of difference. For a while now, the power category has been stagnant but with this release adidas have brought something fresh/new to the table. I have seen in the professional ranks defenders, midfielders, and forwards wear this boot which says a lot about the innovation/time put into the production of this boot. Another difference to point out is the price point which is at a comfortable $200. Unlike the underachieving predator X which was somehow at $220, adidas has learned from that mistake and kept the price at $200.

Adidas adipower Predator SL TEASER...
One of the best releases of the year in the boot world came in 2011 and that was the introduction of the Predator SL; a hybrid boot which features the F50 sprint frame and the style/build of the new adiPower Predator. Many consumers are comparing the SL to the regular Predators but before you get started and start to think you should stop because you cannot compare these boots because they are completely different boots.
The SL is made of a synthetic upper which is what you get when you buy a pair of the adizeros. The synthetic has its advantages as much as consumers like to hate on it but with the insertion of a synthetic upper to a boot it increases the boots durability along with making it very easy to break in. Along with the durability and the aspect of easy break in time the synthetic upper drastically decreases the weight of the boot which is what many consumers are all about. I do not know how many times I get asked that question…How much does the boot weigh??? With the weight of the boot decreased it allows players to still feel light and fast in not so great conditions like a rainy day or a water soaked pitch.
Just like on the adipower the SL version has the same off center lacing system that enables the boot to form a glove like fit around your foot and with this fit which I think is the best on the market allows your striking surface to increase so you have a better/bigger surface area to connect with the ball. The biggest complaint about the SL comes when you get to the Predator Element. In fact the SL has no Predator Element as all because in order to decrease the weight adidas had to forgo the technology in order to keep the weight of the boot down. Some consumers believe that if you call it the Predator SL you should have the technology because at the end of the day it is kind of like false advertising. However, my opinion and the statement I originally made is that you cannot compare these boots at all because with this release adidas created a concept boot for consumers to spark consumers and to show their creative side/imagination. In the end, the release/ introduction of the Predator SL was one of the most unique boot releases this year and from many consumers responses they like the idea of a concept lighter weight boot that has the properties of the predator but by no means is the Predator.
Blogger Note: Check out the teaser images of the next Predator SL color way. Once again, unlike any other boot this boot will fade from bright green to a navy all the way back to the heel. By far this is one of the best color ways I have seen in the boot!

miCoach Adizero Teaser
Boots drop 12/1... Weigh an astonishing 6 oz and are miCoach compatible. One of the most unique boots of the year and what a time for Adidas to drop the boots, right before the new year and just in time for Xmas.
