Boot nerd photo of the day:

Boot nerd photo of the day features the latest signature Messi adizero release. Boot features his logo along with his name on the back of the boot. Comes in at 5.8 oz and features off center lacing for those medium to wide footed players. Definitely a boot that will pop on the pitch. Would like to thank @tony_ott09 for the photo of his new boots. As always many of you will apply but only a few will be chosen. #footyguru #f50 #messi

Throwback Thursday: Messi Juggles adiZero Prime

Welcome to throwback Thursday boot nerds. Adidas dropped one of the lightest boots to ever hit the market with this video teaser featuring #Messi juggling the #adizeroprime that came in at just 5.2 oz. Will never forget the first time I saw this video. #footyguru #f50 #tbt

"Light Up The Pitch"... Messi Teaser

adidas have started to tease an exclusive color way for the Barcelona Golden Boy known as the Messinator. Messi recently just received his own boot and now it is time to prepare for his second signature release. The boots will first appear on pitch June 29th during the Messi and Friends tour. These will be the first shoes he wears in the upcoming 2013/14 campaign.

Check out his first release ( here). As all boot nerds know Messi rocks the F50 which is part of Adidas speed silo.
In its current synthetic upper I think it is rather stiff and non conforming but many footy fans have liked the fit and feel the upper provide. Or then again maybe they are just big Messi fans like the kid in the video below.

The next release Messi color way is set to be released at the start of the new season in August 2013, as shown in the image above, and it seems to be including colors in a combination of pink and violet.

Instead of play the Messi way this slogan around this release will be the theme "Light Up The Pitch"... Hopefully it will be better than the last video adidas dropped to release the boots. I almost fell a sleep...

adidas soccer : The Messi Philosophy

With the recent launch of the Messi F50 adizero boots adidas has recently released a slogan that says "Play The Messi Way." At first I was confused about what this meant but with this video it all makes sense now. adidas have attempted to inspire the youth to keep the game beautiful and  to stay on their feet and not dive to the ground like some people we may know;)

As a footy fan, I enjoyed the fast and action packed commercial and I think this video really portrays about what adidas soccer is all about. Its a shame, this would have been awesome if they would have created this video and geared it toward the latest F50's showing youth players all over the world "finding fast" in the boots or "Playing the Messi way"....

Messi adidas F50 adizero

adidas-adizero-f50-white-red-messi-logo

I knew it was only a matter of time and with the consistent success of Messi it’s about time adidas gave him his own signature boot! In my opinion adidas should have given him his own line about two years ago but it seems that adidas is hesitant when it comes to giving players a signature boot. Unlike most releases adidas made the Messi F50 adizero boot bold by adding a two tone paint job that really makes the boot stand out! In terms of point of difference, I think this signature Messi boot is one of the best color ways yet by adidas because of the contrast of colors.

What makes the Messi F50 adizero different?

With this release adidas still stuck with the single layer Sprintskin upper that is only 1.5mm thin. So the boot is light and will come in at an estimated 5.8 oz. But unlike the other F50 boots adidas infused the sprintskin with a Dualmax synthetic that possesses an exclusive leather grain optic.
With the new re-engineered Dualmax synthetic upper it allows the boot to be lightweight but also provides the boot with an upper that replicates the fit and feel of a leather boot. We all know Messi prefers leather so with this new upper you can for sure bet that adidas tailored this boot to Messi’s exact needs and preferences.
F50 adiZero Messi Overview

As a boot nerd, I am excited to get my hands on a pair just to see and feel the new e engineered upper. If adidas decides to put this upper on the whole F50 range it could be game over! Many of the synthetic F50’s in the past and present have been very non-conforming but with a change in upper it could reinvigorate the boot and its followers to further improve the overall fit and performance of the boot.
Similar to other models the Messi F50  adizero will still feature the sprintframe outsole and the sprintweb which drastically reduces the weight of the boot along with providing support.

According to adidas senior PLM Andreas Konrads; “It was a big challenge but a very exciting honor. To have your own product line is almost like joining the ‘adidas Hall of Fame’ and it is an acknowledgment reserved for our best assets. Signature Ranges are designed to connect the athlete to the consumer and bring them closer together; and in this case with Leo, I believe we have achieved this. We’ll continue to work closely with Leo and develop more insights into his personality and playing style. Each time we meet up with him more creative sparks ignite and ideas come to life. We will continue to push boundaries to remain at the forefront, just like Leo.”
Not only did adidas put a Messi logo on the boot but they went even further with the presentation of the boots by making the box a point of difference. With this release adidas simply went all in. In terms of detail with this release adidas did everything right, even the box includes the Messi logo and colors of the boots. As a boot nerd, I am a fan of this release not because of the signature boot but because of the amount of detail adidas put into this release.

No word yet on when Messi will debut the boots on field but the boots will hit retail Friday March 1st

FC Barcelona - Messi 2018

Messi signs contract extension with FCB till 2018. It only seems right that the club would honor him and drop a video tribute showcasing what Messi has done during his time in a FCB uniform.
