Nike Tiempo: From the pitch to the street

My life your entertainment here at Footy Guru… Walk a mile in my shoes and you will understand this is who I am. If you’re sleeping on the QS Tiempo’s you better wake up! As many of you boot nerds know a couple weeks ago Nike Football brought the Tiempo to the streets with the Nike Tiempo 94 Suede Pack.

NIKE-TIEMPO-94-QS-CBF-FFF-PACK-1

However, now it’s time for a little Quick strike footy inspired action Based on the World Cup-worn Tiempo 94, Nike look to inject some football flavor into the Tiempo 94 by creating two QS releases. One as an ode to CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) and the other the FFF (French Football Federation), both editions lend their schematic from the each corresponding team’s uniforms for this year’s Brazilian World Cup, and come rounded out with flag tags sitting pretty up back. Both releases are available now from select Nike retailers. There should be no cop or drop discussion because these are next level in terms of footy inspired kicks.

Tiempo IV Teaser via Alex

Recently submitted by Alex was this picture of his white/blue Tiempo IV 's complimented by the blue laces which really complete and show off the blue accents. In terms of overall value, the Tiempo is one if the best heritage boots in the game and comes at a realistic price point of only $160. Would like to thank Alex for sending it my way.

Premium Kangaroo leather; Nike Tiempo IV Elite Teaser...

Chicharito fans will you please stand up! After looking at this color way i could only help but think of Manchester United and the Mexican savior Chichi...So without any further anticipation, i would like to introduce the The new Nike Legend IV Elite WHT/RED color way.

The boot is made of Premium Kangaroo leather, only available in the Tiempo IV Elite, which is why many of you footy fans are wondering why the elite version is so much more supply/softer then the regular Tiempo. The reason is because it is elite so Nike gives you a little more premium joey.  The upper is made from the softest and strongest high performance k-leather available. The same premium leather was first used by Nike in the 10R collection back in the day as i am sure many of you footy fans remember. Now however the boots have changed and for the Tiempo Legend IV Elite, further advancements have been made making the leather stronger and softer.

Vamp stitching on the upper is one of the key factors in providing the soft touch and feel the Nike Legend is famous for. The boot is all about being simple, classic, and preaches touch. The new diagonal stitching in the new Tiempo Legend IV prevents the boot from over stretching while the clean minimal-stitched area at the front of the boot creates a clean surface for great touch. In addition, the carbon fiber sole-plate on the Nike Tiempo Legend IV Elite features a combination of elliptical and bladed studs that are injected on the composite carbon outsole. Nike's famous carbon fibre sole plates have become an integral part of their Elite range and are scientifically proven to give players an edge in the final stages of a game. However, at first the carbon fiber can be very stiff and actually takes time to break in...

As a top level Nike football boot, the new Tiempo IV Elite's will be priced at around  $350. To be honest with you, this boot is truly a hybrid and a concept boot that is very special and offers a lot of class and style to your game. The boots are around 9.4 which is decent due to the K-Leather upper. The boots drop 1/1/2012 so if you are a heritage/simple guy and can deal with the white upper this could be your next boot!

Nike Tiempo IV Teaser...

Re-engineered from the classic 1984 Tiempo, the Nike Tiempo Legend IV has come a long way. This boot which started out very bulky and boxy is fine tuned in this forth version. With full-grain kangaroo leather, the boot offers comfort and extra ball feel. Marketed towards the all around elite player the Legend is classic and simple, which attracts the eyes of both old and young players who choose to let their play do the talking. In the end, if you are looking for a classic decent priced boot that offers class, comfort and performance the Legend is the way to go.

The Tiempo IV is a blend of new and old school technology and comes in at a very realistic price point. With leather boots durability is maximized and in my opinion I believe they hold up better on artificial pitches. If you are in the market looking for a new pair of boots then you should give the Legend a try based on price, performance, and value it is one of the best boots on the market. Nike has answered their critics with this boot by making it sleeker, removing the tongue and combining k leather and kanga lite which has never been done before which makes this boot very unique and makes it the lightest Tiempo to date.

The Bottom Line: Affordable boot made for the modern game listed at a very realistic price point. Based on comfort, performance, and overall value I believe this is one of the best Tiempo’s Nike has ever released.

The Red/WhT Tiempo Teaser images you see will be released 1/1/2012.

Tiempo IV LOVE...

Style, comfort, and class are the words I would use to describe this boot. Unlike any other Tiempo ever designed this boot aka the Teimpo IV is made for the modern game and offers consumers who are looking for a leather boot a great opportunity to afford one if the best boots on the market at a reasonable price point of $150 which is impossible to beat. Love what Nike did with this boot!

BLACK ON BLACK NIKE ID TIEMPO IV....

THINKING ABOUT BITTING THE BULLET AND MAKING A PAIR OF NIKEID BOOTS THAT SAY FOOTY GURU OR SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES.... EVERY TIME I SEE A PAIR OF ID BOOTS I GET EXCITED BECAUSE I WANT BOOTS THAT NO ONE ELSE HAS.... THESE ARE SICK...

FOOTY GURU 2012 Nike LEAK...

Above are the next releases of the Tiempo IV and the CTR360 II. With this next release on the Tiempo IV Nike has chosen to go with a white upper which has been done before unfortunately. Furthermore, a couple months ago I showed a Tiempo IV that was done by Nike ID that had a red upper which looked sweet. In addition, above is the next color way for the CTR360 which is a let down in my opinion because with all of the color combos Nike could do with this two tone boot/design they pick black/white/orange?? suspect...

As for the next Vapor, which is number eight to be exact in the series will rock almost every boot fanatics mind. With this boot which will retail at around $220 is sleeker and is way more form fitting. This generation will have a new lighter upper along with a new out sole to increase comfort. This past generation of Vapor i found very firm and not very form fitting. So with this boot, Nike retooled the design and made the boot to fit like the Vapor I and II's which were sleek, light and simple.

Weight: Estimated 5.6-6 oz
Price: 220.00
Release Date: Spring 2012

Nike Tiempo Legend IV Review: PART 1

Nike Tiempo Legend IV Review: PART 1

The Good: The Tiempo IV is a simple heritage boot that offers a K-Leather upper at a very affordable price of $150

The Bad: The straight lacing makes it hard for consumers with wider feet and I would like to see Nike make an off center lacing for this boot to increase comfort and to allow consumers with wider feet a chance to wear them.

The Bottom Line: Affordable boot made for the modern game listed at a very realistic price point. Based on comfort, performance, and overall value I believe this is one of the best Tiempo’s Nike has ever released.

Nike Tiempo IV Elite

The past couple of months consumers have been in a buzz regarding the release and new specs of the soon to be Tiempo IV. Throughout the years the Tiempo has been Nike Football’s flagship boot with its classic sleek design and heritage styling. But in order to keep consumers interested and to please its athletes needs Nike has decided to retool the Tiempo series to fit the modern game. Furthermore, there was some discrepancy regarding if Nike would make an elite Tiempo IV that utilized the carbon fiber outsole along with the implementation of fly wire to the k leather boot. From the looks of it, I believe this will be a special boot due to the makeup of what the boot consists of; for example, fly wire, carbon fiber, k leather. Nike has created ultimately created a hybrid boot made for the modern game and a boot that can specifically be used
by the elite players.

Specs:
The new Nike Legend IV Elite is made of Premium Kangaroo leather, only available in the Tiempo IV Elite. The upper is made from the softest and strongest high performance k-leather available. The same premium leather was first used by Nike in the 10R collection. Now, for the Tiempo Legend IV Elite, further advancements have been made making the leather stronger and softer.

Vamp stitching on the upper is one of the key factors in providing the soft touch and feel the Nike Legend is famous for. The new diagonal stitching in the new

The carbon fiber sole-plate on the Nike Tiempo Legend IV Elite features a combination of elliptical and bladed studs that are injected on the composite carbon chassis. Nike's famous carbon fibre sole plates have become an integral part of their Elite range and are scientifically proven to give players an edge in the final stages of a game.

The Nike Tiempo Legend IV Elite soccer shoes will be available to pre-order from June 20th for a July 1st launch. As a top level Nike football boot, the new Tiempo IV Elite's will be priced at around  $350

Tiempo IV Teaser; Nike's Heritage boot.

I am excited for these boots to drop this summer...

Tiempo IV Teaser; Nike's Heritage boot.

With the Tiempo release upon us I decided to share a teaser image of a unseen color of the Tiempo IV which is expected to turn heads on the soccer market because it is the first Tiempo that features a kanga-lite upper. This color way looks like it would be a boot made for Ronaldinho, which could be true because since leaving Milan it seems he is now enjoying his football again. I am excited for the Tiempo IV release and believe it could give the adipure IV a run for its money. Based on price, comfort, and durability the Tiempo or the adipure series could be the best boots on the market when it comes to overall value.

What is your boot of choice and why? adipure vs Tiempo; who gets your vote?

Touch of Gold

A Touch of Viral:

According to Time magazine, "Big advertisers started paying attention in October in 2005, when a cool Nike ad that did not look like an ad of the Brazilian soccer player Ronaldinho went viral in a big way on You Tube."

At the time when 1 million his was a big deal the "Touch of Gold" had 20 million views around the world of this one clip. In the end, this ad exploded and ultimately changed the way things were passed along. Good idea?

Man on the Pitch series...

During the coming weeks I will be writing a series of post regarding which boots you should wear depending on what position you call home on the pitch. The point of this series is to inform/help players both young and old who are looking to purchase new boots aid them in their quest. The positions I will look at are forwards, wingers, midfielder's, and defenders.

Man on the Pitch Series; Forwards

Depending on your style of play will depend on what boots you choose. Any boot will do but it depends on you as a player and what you feel comfortable playing in. Boots in today's soccer market can be labeled in three different categories which are heritage, speed, and power boots. If you look around at the worlds best strikers they are all wearing boots that suit their individual games. For example, if you are a power runner/bull dog like Wayne Rooney or Torres then maybe you will choose the the T90 which is a power boot. Or maybe your game is all about speed and flair like CR7 who endorses the Nike Mercurial SuperFly. Then in the middle of power and speed lies the heritage/classic boot category. For example,if you are the engine of the team and prefer simplicity on your boots like Frank Lampard or a Joe Cole then heritage boots might be right for you.

A list of the three different categories of boots:

Heritage: Nike Tiempo, adidas AdiPURE, adidas Copa, Umbro Speciali, Puma King
Speed: Nike Vapor, Nike SuperFly, adidas adiZERO, Puma SL, Umbro GT Pro
Power: Adidas Predator, Nike T90, Puma Power Cat,

The only way to see if any of these boots are right for you is to take a look at what kind of player you are and then make your way to your local boot shop and try on the boots to get a feel for how the boot fits your foot.

Looking for the Nike CTR 360? What category would you put it in, I am indifferent; caught between heritage and speed.
