Let the countdown begin! On May 16th Adidas will unveil the latest boot to the market for all the boot nerds to see. It has been a long time coming but it seems as if Adidas is finally going to drop a fourth silo. For years Nike has held an advantage because of the number of boot offerings they have had but it seems that Adidas will soon match them. Adidas and Opta have worked two years together to define a new type of player - The Engine. The Engine according to the boys over at Adidas is a player which runs from box-to-box from the first minute until the final whistle.
Opta and Adidas produced a mathematical algorithm which defines the perfect Engine player. Javi Martinez (Bayern München), Dani Alves (FC Barcelona), Daniele De Rossi (AS Roma) and Ezequiel Lavezzi (Paris SG) will be faces of the new Nitrocharge boot series because they fit best the profile of 'The Engine'.
The adidas Nitrocharge 1.0 Boot features many new technologies by adidas: The Upper material combines the benefits from leather and synthetic materials and is called Hybridtouch. This boot could be a major point of difference. Since the LZ dropped I have been a big fan of the Hybrid touch upper because of the lockdown affect it provides. In addition, the upper offers stability and elasticity trough a technology called Energysling that ultimately provides premium energy output. The Energy Pulse Outsole offers high energy output and the new Sprintframe stud shape is perfect for the balance between stability and lightweight. It is estimated that the boot will come in at around 8.2 oz with a price tag of $200.
Launch update: Nitocharge Boot will be worn by several players in UEFA Champions League final. The Nitro Charge Boot marks the beginning of the new Adidas Energy Boot line which is the 4th Adidas Boot Range after Speed represented by AdiZero, Control (Adidas Predator LZ) and Heritage (Adidas Adipure).
Although the Nitrocharge Boot has not been released yet here is a list of the most important players who will wear the new Nitrocharge Boot series. Javi Martinez (Bayern München), Sven Bender (Borussia Dortmund), Simon Rolfes (Bayer 04 Leverkusen), Dani Alves (FC Barcelona), Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid), Daniele De Rossi (AS Roma), Antonio Nocerino (Milan), Clément Grenier (Lyon), Ezequiel Lavezzi (Paris SG) and Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal).
