Market Duds.

The newest releases from Nike and adidas have surprised me and many other consumers it seems. Surprised not by the fit of the boot but the color choices of both the new Vapor and the adizero that both companies decided to recently release.

Recently released was the Nike Mercurial Vapor 8 that features a unique white upper and the trademark big royal swoosh. Unfortunately, in my opinion this boot/color way has been a dud in the marketplace because the color way is weak. So weak that on the pitch it even lacks an on field presence with the professionals which is often times what drives boot sales. Why do you think CR7 wore the white MV8 against Bayern in the second leg? To be honest, five years ago white boots were new and it was unique but as a consumer who wants to spend hours trying to clean the black scuff marks off a brand new pair of white boots?

Every boot nerd wants to look and have his boots stay clean and with this launch I think Nike should have finally done something simple and released a predominately black boot for the second color way. Let me know what you think of the white Vapor 8. Yay or Nay?

The other newly released color way from adidas in the adizero that was weak in my opinion was the white/black color way. Unfortunately, like the white Vapor 8 this release is a dud as well because in my opinion white boots are a thing of the past and with this boot being over shadowed by the blue Messi superman color way it would have been awesome to see adidas been more aggressive and release a poppy color way just in time for spring footy.

Why not go back to the roots of the adizero era and release the OG aka original release color-way in the adizero which was all yellow complemented by black stripes. Similar to the Vapor 8 let me know what you think of the newely released adizero color way. Yay or nay?
