With adidas taking the next Predator into a speed/lightweight direction rather then keep the once loved power/accuracy boot alive I believe players looking for power boots will now turn to the new Total 90 IV. In recent seasons we have seen the Total 90 series change color but no new innovation/technology has been introduced which is what i think fans have been wishing and hoping for. In my mind, a power boot is not only comfortable but also has technology to aid you in the pitch. All the boots on the market are thinking lighter is better but in reality not everyone wants a speed boot and many footballers like myself would prefer comfort/power/accuracy over the many flimsy lightweight boots on the market.
Sticking with the same theme it looks as if Nike will again change their game changing fin technology to a zigzag approach which will cover most of the instep of the boot which is unlike any other Total 90. However, unlike past T90 boots this version does not have plastic on it aka fins/panels and looks very sleek. With this new technology it look like Nike were able to reduce the weight of the T90 by changing the technology of the sweet spot/strike zone. Another thing I am pleased about is that Nike did not change the last of the boot, what I mean by that is many consumers have a wider foot and because Nike's generally run narrow consumers with wider feet can still find a boot within Nike's different silo's to work for them.
Another interesting spec i noticed about the boots is the out sole. We have seen adidas innovate an out sole that has dramatically decreased the weight of all their boots. Could this be Nike's new lightweight out sole?
Will the the Total 90 IV be a boot you purchase this Fall?
