The ideal winger in today’s game of football is fast, illusive, and tricky. But looking around the professional ranks many players are wearing different kinds of boots. For example, Joe Cole wears a heritage boot with the Nike Tiempo while Bale the Welch wizard endorses the adizero by adidas. Many people have asked me regarding what boot they should buy for the upcoming season and because they play outside midfield what boot would be the best for them.
To be honest, as a player you need to look at your skill set and analyze what kind of player you are and how you play as a footballer. For instance, if you lack pace but offer great service you might want to look at a power boot like the predator or the Total 90. David Beckham is the perfect example/endorser of the predator series because of his ability to cross the ball and put the ball on a dime, it shows that you do not need to be a speedster like Lennon in order to be a good winger.
Furthermore, when you are looking to buy a boot there are three different categories of boots; heritage, power, and speed boots. In the end, there is no right or wrong answer when picking a boot because ultimately it is what is comfortable for you and what boot suits your game.
Things to consider:
Narrow foot and speed is your game: Try a adizero, Vapor, or Puma SL
Wider foot and a seeking a boot is a game changer/power boot: Try the Predator or the Total 90.
Meduim foot and seeking a k leather boot with touch you should try a heritage boot: adiPURE, Copa, Nike Tiempo, or CTR 360.
