VAPOR IX’S SUMMER UPDATE – VOLT / BLACK / CITRUS

To kick off summer with a bang Nike Soccer is set to launch a range of boots to help celebrate the Confederations Cup in Brazil. The latest boot revealed is the Mercurial Vapor IX color way which is being refereed to Volt/Black/Citrus. Considering the Neptune release was very weak I am expecting this Citrus paint job to make a splash on the pitch and the boot market. The upper along with the black accents on the boot really make it a point of difference and give it that extra bit of class.

Thanks to Stephan el Shaaraway ( Above) many boot nerds were able to see the boots last month when he tweeted a picture of them.

My thoughts regarding the Vapor IX....

In terms of fit and getting that sock like feel the Vapor might be the best on the market at the moment when it comes to speed boots. Rather then weight Nike has done a better job focusing on fit which I think has paid off for them. The new speed control upper is very pliable on the MVIX compared to other boots on the market. In addition, the boot is coming in at an estimated 6.5 oz but the thing about the Vapor IX is the fit and the sock like fit you get when you put it on. I feel like the IX's upper is more elastic compared to the Vapor 8 which had a tendency to stretch and lose its form/new boot fit and feel. Overall, the Mercurial Vapor IX is on my list for top three speed boots on the market mainly because the fit and comfort.

Boots should drop 6/15 and you should expect all the Mercurial guys slowly transitioning into this Citrus color way.
