Vapor 8 Teaser

Without the introduction of the Mercurial series back in the day I doubt we would have a speed boot race at the moment. Maybe more focus/emphasis would have been put on power or even the new emerging silo called control which in my opinion just focuses on comfort. However, because of the Mercurial series we have the speed boot race and with one of the most anticipated boot releases of 2012 the Vapor is in the limelight once again.

Many haters and old vapor fans are very interested to see what this boot has to offer because lets be honest the Vapor VII was stiff, rigid and lacked a locked down affect and rather then innovate the boot Nike changed the color over and over again and to be honest I am not sure if they started with purple or blue first. Either way, after looking back at 2011 my head is still spinning with all of the color choices. With the Vapor VIII Nike has changed the upper to make it more form fitting along with manipulate the out-sole to make the boot less rigid and more flexible/comfortable. The upper will be a point of difference on the synthetic boot market because it is so soft that with the touch of your finger nail you can leave an imprint. Rather then fight the lightweight race/competition Nike has focused on the fit of the boot rather then the weight. By concentrating on the fit of the boot and the lock down affect Nike is hoping to provide a sock like fit like the OG vapors back in the day which were simple, light and offered some comfort rather then the rigid ride the glass and carbon fiber out soles provide nowadays.

However, I believe with this release Nike missed one major step in producing the best speed boot in 2012 and it as to do with the overall fit of the boot and maybe someday soon I will have a hand in the process. I live and breath boots, enjoy the leaks.
