Ribery
and Shaqiri both endorse the Mercurial Vapor and definitely do it justice on
the pitch with their speed and skill. So to debut and showcase the launch of
the VaporIX in Munich Nike pimped both pros with Lamborhini’s that looked like
the two new color ways of the Mercurial Vapor IX. Not a bad way to release a
new pair of boots into the market with an event like this.
Both
Ribery and Shaqiri were joined by 26 young boot nerds who participated in the
#BeMercurial event. Not only did the participants meet the two professional
footy players but all received a new pair of VaporIX’s and had their boots
evaporated in Nike’s exclusive custom machine that through heat molds the boots
to your feet perfectly.
The
Vapor IX consists of the same structure of the Vapor 8 but with this release
boot nerds around the world are very intrigued/fascinated by the new upper.
According to Nike, the Vapor IX includes a new speed control technology that
provides a better touch/ball grip compared to its predecessor. I have spoken to
various people in Nike footy and they have said that many testers preferred the
new upper because not only of the touch compound but also the way the upper
keeps its form and shape compared to the Vapor 8.
However,
time will tell and I am very interested on how the new upper compares to the
old model. Hopefully, Nike was able to fix the stretching problem so the Vapor
IX provides a better/more consistent fit compared to the Vapor 8.
